At Heathridge Primary School we have a strong focus on providing students with the opportunity to enhance their creative skills through Design and Technology, as well as preparing them for the digital future. Students have access to iPads with a variety of applications, an extensive computer lab and coding equipment.
We build computer literacy skills so students are able to use the internet safely and explore the world of unplugged and plugged coding. At Heathridge Primary School, our students utilise the properties of Design and Technology through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities. This process incorporates selecting, planning, creating, reflecting and improving projects.
We know that coding is the language of computers and a vital skill to learn for our students' future endeavours in the 21st Century. "Coding sparks creativity, inspiration and innovation - all of which are essential in any career".
