Heathridge Primary School employs a specialist Physical Education Teacher, who provides weekly lessons to our Year 1-6 students. A key component of the Physical Education Program is our students being explicitly taught the Fundamental Movement Skills. The focus is on a developmental pathway where our students progress through the skills needed for confident participation in sport and recreational activities.
At Heathridge Primary School, we understand that every child has different skills and abilities; therefore our aim is to expose the students to a variety of sports to enhance their experiences. To allow students to reach their full potential on the sporting fields, we place emphasis on the development of the life skills of resilience, confidence and respect.
All students have the opportunity to participate in a range of carnivals including athletics, cross country and winter sports. Students also participate in swimming lessons each year. Some of the sports covered during the year include golf, basketball, tennis, volleyball, cricket, netball, athletics, football, soccer and cross country.
