The Benefits of Having a School Chaplain
A school chaplain provides valuable wellbeing and pastoral care support for students, staff, and families, promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and social connection within the school community.
Chaplains offer a safe, trusted presence for students to talk to when facing personal, social, or emotional challenges. They help build positive relationships, support social and emotional learning, and can assist students in developing strategies for managing stress, friendships, conflict, or change.
Chaplains run programs, wellbeing initiatives, and small group activities that foster inclusion, kindness, and a sense of belonging. They also support staff wellbeing and work alongside teachers, support workers, and leadership teams to contribute to a caring and connected school environment.
Having a school chaplain strengthens the overall support network available to students, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing space where all students can thrive.
Our Chaplain: Skye Johnson
We are very lucky to have Skye at our school Tuesdays and Fridays. She holds Harmony Hub on a Friday at lunchtime and is available for students to visit on a regular basis or as needed on her allocated days.
